Narooma NSW

Narooma's Beaches

Narooma NSW, one of Australia's most beautiful oceanside towns. Located on the South Coast of New South Wales, it's one of the most unique seaside towns on the South Coast. We are located in the heart of the Eurobodalla Nature Coast, a pristine stretch of oceanfront starting at Batemans Bay and ending south at Narooma and Central Tilba. Narooma is named after the Aboriginal word for "yellow bubble sea weed", which is ONooroowa. Narooma is just a few hours drive from Canberra and Sydney. Although not as touristy as nearby Batemans Bay, Narooma is slowly becoming more commercialized. Now is the time to come and enjoy the unique charm and character this town has to offer! Narooma makes a great stayover while travleing down Australia's South Coast, or stay for a while and make Narooma your home base for exploring all that the Eurobodalla region has to offer. Either way, you won't regret planning a trip to Narooma!

Narooma New South Wales AU

The Gulaga Mount Dromedary gives Narooma wonderful mountain views contrasted with the oceanfront and the Wagonga Inlet. Everywhere you look the views are simply amazing. Narooma is nearly an island with the Wagonga River, the Wagonga Estuary, and the Pacific Ocean almost surrounding the entire town. This proximity to water was the very reason Narooma was formed, for shipbuilding and a port for the local produce market. Today, the water provides endless recreation opportunities for the families that come to enjoy this South Coast seaside town. Fishing is quite popular with the tourists, and there are big game fishing charters direct from Narooma. Swimming in the clear blue waters is also a huge draw, and there are beaches for everyone from the experienced surfers to young children. Whale watching excursions are a great way for the family to enjoy nature and see the Narooma coast from the sea. A day trip to nearby Montague Island Wildlife Reserve is recommended for everyone, charters leave daily for this close escape from the mainland. For the land lovers among us, Dalmeny and Kianga are also close enough for a day trip to enjoy the markets and beaches those towns have to offer.
